ARSENAL ANNOUNCE TRYOUT DATES

The Arsenal has announced tryout dates for its 2012-13 season. Girls and Boys under-9 through under-13 will tryout May 29-31. Older players ages under-14 through under-19 will tryout June 5-7. A June 11 date is set for a rain make-up if necessary. Online registration for tryouts will open May 1. For specific times and fields please refer to the flyer below.

Arsenal Shootout Friendlies

Twenty-five academy age teams (U9-U12) will be playing Saturday April 28 at the Augusta Soccer Park. The teams will play throughout the day with games beginning at 8 am and ending with 3:30 pm contests. Highland FC (Asheville, NC) Savannah/Hilton Head Island Soccer Academy, Statesboro Strikers, GASC Bulls and South Carolina United will all have teams represented in additon to the Arsenal Academy teams. Brusters Ice Cream and Chik-Fil-A will be on site throughout the day to provide food and refreshments.

ARSENAL ACADEMY TEAMS WIN SCU ST. PATRICKS DAY CUP

The U10 Boys Academy played up an age group at the South Carolina United St Patricks Day Cup and won their division with a 2-1 final game victory over the hosts SCUFC 00 Bronze. The boys went undefeated on the weekend with victories over SCUFC 00 Navy 2-0, 01 Falcons 3-1 and a 3-3 tie with SCU Mt Pleasant. The U10 Girls Academy had an oustanding weekend as well by winning their division in a 1-0 final victory over Charlotte United Speed. The girls defeated Palmetto United Maroon 7-1, SCUFC 01 Black 6-2 and tied SCU Mt Pleasant Athletica to earn their spot in the championship game. The U11 Girls Academy also had a great weekend but came up short in the final losing a tough 1-0 match to SCU Mt Pleasant 00 Breakers.

Arsenal Girls Garner Hardware From CGSA Girls Rocks Tournament

All three Arsenal teams that competed at the CGSA Girls Rock Tournament in Savannah came away with trophies. The U11 Girls Academy and the '96 Girls Gold both won their respective divisions and the '97 Girls Gold were Finalists. The U11 Girls went undefeated with wins over Strikers Blue East, First Coast Academy White, Tohat 19 Blue and Strikers Green East. The '96 Girls also went undefeated with wins over Lady Rapids '96 (TN), SC United Crescent, Chattanooga United and CGSA Strikers. The '97 Girls went 2-1-1 on the weekend with victories over Concorde Fire Black and Atlanta Fire United '97.

U16 Boys Finalists at Disney Showcase

The '96 Arsenal Boys Gold had a successful week at one of the largest and most prestigious tournaments on the East Coast, Disney Showcase. The boys went 2-1 in group play with wins over Michigan Jaguars '96 White (2-1) and DFW Tejanos '96 Premier (TX) (3-1) and a tie with NASA Elite (GA). The boys lost a hard fought 4-2 championship match with MFC Fire '96 Premier (MS).

U15 Boys and U19 Girls Win Fall Season Titles

The '97 Boys Gold won the Fall Classic I Title with a record of 8-1-3. The boys scored 23 goals while allowing 13. The '94 Girls won the Fall Athena II Title with a record of 10-0-1. The girls scored 49 goals while giving up just 1 on the season. Congratulations to both.

ARSENAL TEAMS FIND SUCCESS AT NORCROSS NIKE CUP

The Arsenal U15 Boys won their division of the Nike Cup going undefeated on the weekend. The boys defeated Louisiana ODP Boys 2-0, Cincinnati United Premier 4-0, CESA Classic Black 1-0 and Atlanta Spurs 1-0 in the Championship Game.

The U11 Boys were finalists with a 4-2 victory over TSC Gold, 5-1 win over Inter Atlanta and a 2-1 win over Norcorss Blue before dropping the final to UFA Barcelona.

The U16 Boys won their division going undefeated throughout the weekend. Opening round wins versus NASA Premier 3-1, WCWAA Black 2-1, and Norcross Fury Gold 1-0 put the Arsenal in the final. The boys won the championship with a 5-0 victory over UK Soccer 16s.

ARSENAL '02 ACADEMY GIRLS MAKE CESA FALL CHALLENGE FINAL

The Arsenal U9 Girls Academy won their first two games 1-0 each over CESA '01 Red and Furman United Storm. A 2-1 loss to CESA '02 Black on Sunday morning was not enough to keep them from a spot in the championship. The girls lost their second game with Furman United Storm 2-0 to finish as tournament finalists.

ARSENAL GIRLS CLAIM THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN CHARLESTON

The Arsenal Girls sent eight teams to the 2011 Charleston Select Shootout and had five teams play for the tournament championship. The U9 Girls claimed their first ever tournament title going undefeated in four games and winning the final 2-1. The U12 Girls Blue defeated Savannah SA 2-1 for their championship and the U16 girls used two overtimes and penalty kicks to defeat the host South Carolina United MP '95 Elite. The U11 Girls were finalist losing a tough battle in the final 2-1 to host South Carolina United MP Breakers and the U15 girls dropped a hard fought championship match to the host South Carolina United MP '97 Elite 1-0.

'00 and '97 Arsenal Boys Blue Claim Carolina Cup Crowns

Both the U12 Boys Blue and the U15 Boys Gold won their divisions of the Carolina Cup held in Columbia, South Carolina. The U12 boys defeated DSC White 3-2, SCUFC Red 2-0 and GCU Tornadoes 7-1 on their way to the final. They met the hosts a second time in the final with the same result, a 3-1 victory and tournament championship.

The U15 Boys beat SC United Palmetto I and SC United 97 Elite to advance to the final. The boys defeated LCSC United White, 6-3, to claim the championship.

'95 Arsenal Gold Boys Finalists at St Francis Sports Medicine Classic

The U17 Boys Gold beat East Ridge Express (TN) 5-2, tied CESA Challenge (SC) and defeated Darlington SC (GA) in the round robin of the St. Francis Sports Medicine Classic in Geenville, SC. The boys ended up on the short end of a 2-1 scoreline in the final against Atlanta Spurs FC.

'96 Arsenal Gold Boys, '00 Girls - Atlanta Cup Champions

The U16 Boys Gold won the Cup Flight of Atlanta Cup with a 2-1 win in the championship game over DSC Green Premier. The boys did not give up a goal in round robin play with a 5-0 victory over AFC Lightning Premier, 8-0 over Team Luna and a 0-0 tie with Huntesville FC. The boys defeated West Georgia United Elite, 2-1, in the semifinal. The U12 girls won their flight of Atlanta Cup as well with a 1-0 victory over CCS Blue in the final. The girls tied Concorde White 2-2 in the first game before winning three straight, 2-0 over MSFS Blue, 3-0 over Harpeth Hurricanes and 4-0 over Roswell Santos Red in the semi-final.

'98 Arsenal Gold Girls Win Asheville Riverside Summer Shootout

The U14 Girls won the championship of the Riverside Shootout in Asheville, NC over the weekend. The girls were undefeated and unscored upon in their 4 matches with two 6-0 wins over ICRD Ice and HFC Red and a 4-0 win over GUSA White in round robin play. The girls defeated FUSC Fusion in the final 3-0 to claim the championship.

'99 Arsenal Gold Boys Win Asheville Riverside Summer Shootout

The U13 Boys went undefeated on their way to the first club tournament title of the new season at the Riverside Summer Shootout in Asheville, NC. The boys tied their first match 2-2 against FSC Force Premier and then won their next two, 2-1 vs CVYSA Blast Blue and 6-4 vs the host HFC White. The team met FSC Force Premier again in the championship game and emerged with a 2-1 victory.
