The Arsenal Development Model

Teaching players how to truly play the game

At Augusta Arsenal, development is at the center of everything we do. Our goal is not simply to field competitive teams, but to help players truly learn and understand the game.

Our training environment focuses on building technically confident, intelligent players who can make decisions under pressure and adapt to different game situations. Each stage of the Arsenal pathway is designed to support long-term growth while preparing players to compete at higher levels.

This philosophy guides how we train, how we coach, and how players progress through the club.

Age-Appropriate Development

MLS Go (U6-U10)

Core Development Principles

Technical Excellence

Players develop confidence and creativity on the ball through consistent technical training. Ball mastery, first touch, passing, and finishing are emphasized at every age level.

Game Intelligence

Players are taught to read the game, understand space, and make quick decisions under pressure. Training sessions are designed to encourage problem-solving rather than simply following instructions.

Decision-Making Under Pressure

Small-sided games and competitive training environments help players learn to make faster and better decisions in real game situations.

Confidence and Creativity

Players are encouraged to take risks, express themselves on the ball, and develop the confidence needed to solve problems during the game.

Long-Term Growth

Our focus is not only on short-term results, but on helping players improve year after year so they are prepared for higher levels of competition.

The Arsenal Training Environment

A Competitive but Constructive Environment

Augusta Arsenal strives to create an environment where players are challenged while being supported in their development. Coaches focus on teaching, guiding, and helping players understand the game rather than simply directing play from the sidelines.

This approach encourages players to take ownership of their growth and build confidence both on and off the field.

Preparing Players for the Next Level

The Arsenal development model prepares players to pursue higher levels of soccer through opportunities such as:

  • National Academy League (NAL)
  • Development Player League (DPL)
  • Olympic Development Program (ODP)
  • Atlanta United Futures
  • College soccer opportunities
  • UPSL competition for older players

By focusing on long-term development, Augusta Arsenal helps players build the skills and understanding necessary to continue growing in the game.
