Weather Policy
The safety of our players, coaches, and families is our top priority. Augusta Arsenal will make all decisions regarding weather-related delays, cancellations, or modifications with player safety in mind.
General Guidelines
- Activities may be delayed, modified, or canceled due to lightning, severe weather, field conditions, or extreme temperatures
- Final decisions will be made by club leadership
- When possible, updates will be communicated through team communication channels (e.g., Byga alerts or email)
Lightning Policy
- If lightning is detected in the area, all activities will be immediately suspended
- Players and spectators must seek shelter in a safe location (vehicles or buildings)
- Activities may resume only after 30 minutes have passed since the last lightning strike or thunder
Rain & Field Conditions
- Training or games may continue in light rain if fields are deemed safe
- Activities may be canceled if fields become unsafe due to:
- Standing water
- Poor traction
- Risk of injury or field damage
Heat Policy
During periods of high heat or humidity:
- Additional water breaks will be provided
- Training intensity and duration may be adjusted
- Activities may be modified or canceled if conditions are unsafe
Cold Weather Policy
- Activities may continue in cold weather with appropriate attire
- Sessions may be shortened or canceled in cases of extreme cold or hazardous conditions
Communication
- Weather-related updates will be shared via Byga alerts/emails as early as possible
- In cases of sudden weather changes, decisions may be made at the field
- Families should use their best judgment when traveling in questionable conditions
Additional Notes
- Cancelled sessions may not always be rescheduled
- Refunds or credits will not be issued for weather-related cancellations
- Individual teams or coaches may adjust plans based on conditions
